Windows Server 2003

Server2003The day is coming soon and now is the time, if you haven’t begun already, to get moving on creating a path to moving services off the Windows Server 2003 platform. Depending on the roles and number of these servers, it could be quite intensive and even overwhelming. It is understandable that the resources may not be readily available or there may be customized applications written specifically for this platform. The unknown can be a bit scary, especially when day to day business tasks can’t be interuppted, yet a sense of urgency may be looming in the background. Servers will not quit functioning on July 15th, but over time, without security patches to these servers, the risk of compromise increases daily.

I am here to help with this process. It need not be overwhelming, but a planned approach is critical. Knowing where you stand and an understanding of what may be at risk along with a good sense of what it will take to aleviate risk is a great place to begin.
